Here are a few of the nice things that others have said about us. We hope you will say the same thing.
Dear Friends of Inglenook
I have wrestled with how to express my appreciation for sometime now. I have come to the conclusion that I need to get it done. I am not good in expressing my feelings but if you will try and fill in the spaces the meaning may come through.
I want to convey my most sincere thanks to you and your staff. You’re caring and professionalism in the day to day operation of Inglenook makes it a super establishment. “Thanks” is such a small word for the service you provide. To come close to the true meaning of the word it would need to have 26 letters. The food service surpasses my expectations and the personal care and contact with each and every of the residents makes for a homey feeling of family. The interior garden is a special feature that my mother talked about everyday. Mom always liked gardening and yard work and being able to see the courtyard was special too her. Her apartment although being small is more than adequate. She always thought of the home she had though. Mom, dad, and I all worked to build that home from scratch. Mom mixed all the concrete and mortar to build it and lived there for over 50 years. So you can understand how it held a special place in her mind. Although her thoughts wandered, she had many times to express her pleasure being able to live at Inglenook.
I want to extend a special “Thanks” to the caregivers. They took such good care of my mother. I know that doing so takes a special person. I personally do no have this gift. God gives everyone gifts, but only very few have the gift of comfort and love. Being able to see and not judge, to guide not drive, to have patience, to take the verbal abuse without being offended, and to pay attention to go an eighty year old mind that has fiver year-old thoughts, stretches the ability to most of us. This as I see it, is a skill that is given by God. I don’t think that it can be learned.
The gratitude I wish to express to the Inglenook staff is beyond words. I know the loss of my mother is heartfelt by many of you. I do now know how to do it. It is obvious that you take the residents into your heart’s not just a number, or places at the table. I am so happy that we chose your establishment and had your staff to guide us through the last days of her life.
With greatest respect and appreciation,
Barbara Lambert and Family
